The cast seems very random but the first episode is very promising. Looks like it's not purely gaming but you'd think that would be a focus given the members. Currently doesn't have a name and only on YT:

Troy Baker's podcast voice is pure silk.

If you are a creative in any way this was a great first episode. Great discussion in any case.

The fact that Ratatouille is quoted just shows this podcast is going places.

I don't understand when podcasts exist only on Youtube, a video platform that's not particularly 'portable'. Is it because of hosting cost and the relative convenience of YT outweighing the benefit of other options?

I listen to 99% of podcasts in my car when I commute. Unless I pay for an additional YT sub my phone either switches off a minute or so in when attempting to stream to the stereo, or I leave the screen on continuously and kill my battery / risk getting fined if I was ever pulled over by police.

Youtube is probably the cheapest option and has video. That said this podcast will be up on the usual apps once they figure out a name.

When I reached Journey's climax, and Wintory's Apotheosis swelled, bringing tears to my eyes and filling me with a transcendentalist appreciation for the gift of life, I thought to myself "I bet this guy would make a great podcaster."

Don't know who Alanah Pearce is but I love the works of Austin Wintory, probably one of the best composer in the industry, Mike Bithel, one of the indie developers with the most interesting output and Troy Baker, arguable the best english voice actor.

Can't wait for this to be an actual podcast that I can hear anywhere offline in my phone and not just an YouTube video

There are things I would do to the sound of Baker's voice and I say that as a straight man.

That's an odd group for a podcast but I like all 4 so I'll give it a shot.

I'm surprised at the Troy Baker praise in this thread. I always thought he was a very solid "generic man" actor - Very consistent at a high quality, but nothing super standout.

You're surprised that the voice of Joel is liked?

I'm surprised at stuff like "Best English Voice Actor".

I don't think I could even pick someone for that, but the voice of Booker definitely doesn't come to mind.

I actually find him one of the most versatile VAs out there.

Troy Baker will always be Yuri and Kanji to me, despite having far more high profile roles since then.

i don't know the other 3 at all, I'll have to look them up.

I don't think much of his Booker performance because the didn't had the best material to work with and yet Booker and Elizabeth's relashionship were the best thing in that game mustly due to. The performance

In the end of last generation and beginning of this one he was in almost all AAA game so he has also some generic works, like one of the CoD protagonists, Talion in Shadows of Mordor/War, Delsin in infamous second son, one of the voices of the protagonist of Saints Row 4 - the one I chose btw

But he also did Kanji from P4, Vincent from Catherine, a very good Mark Hamill soundalike Joker in Arkham Origins, Pagan Min in Far Cry 4, Batman in the Telltale game, Nathan Drake's Older Brother and Joel

His only performance I recall people hating - I haven't played, is the protagonist in the redub for Sillent Hill 2 HD

To me in his most generic work he's Troy Baker being directed to be Troy Baker, in his best he made people care for a man like Joel

He's been in a lot of games and some very big ones, he's also the likely the most know voice actor so it isn't really surprising, it also helps that he's actually good, his recent work on Higgs is no exception despite Kojima's writing.

I mean, Mark Hamill? Tara Strong? Cree Summer? Peter Cullen, Tom Kenny, Jim Cummings, etc. etc. etc.

I don't want to further derail the thread so I won't talk about it anymore but just off the top of my head, even if I try to separate my own favorite VAs like Ashly Burch or Jennifer Hale, I really don't even think about Troy Baker as one of the all time greats. I like the guy's work, but I just didn't realize some people thought he was a GOAT

He's Joel in TLOU, that alone makes it pretty obvious the guy will be popular and highly regarded.

Sorry for the odd bump, but I thought a brief discussion in the latest episode was interesting enough to make a thread and in searching to make sure one hasn't been made yet, I found this, so figured I'd just post it here.

When discussing GTA games, Troy Baker mentions how he wasn't a fan of GTA IV and how Niko Bellic's voice actor complaining about only making $100,000 rubbed him the wrong way, which leads them into a discussion about residuals in gaming. Unfortunately the discussion naturally turns into copyright laws rather quickly, but they do manage to bring up excellent points as to why a residuals system would not work in games.

It starts at 4:40, if the timestamp doesn't work.
