After years of involvement with the VM and Display Show, including organising forums that have brought together industry leaders to share their insights, this year marks a change of pace for me. I'm attending the show, taking place on the 16-17th April, purely as a visitor. This shift allows me to engage with the event from a new perspective, reflecting on my journey from attendee to exhibitor, and to a position of organising conferences that welcomed leading retailers and designers to share their expertise, and now back to experiencing the event in its purest form. In my view, the VM and Display Show is a key event for anyone involved in the retail visual merchandising and display sector. It's more than just an annual gathering; it's where the pulse of the industry can be felt, showcasing the latest trends and serving as a melting pot for innovative ideas and design brilliance. The show offers a unique chance to observe and actively participate in the ongoing evolution of retail display, making it a prime spot for professionals looking to stay ahead in their field. The opportunity to network with peers and industry leaders adds another layer of value to the experience. It’s a place where conversations can spark new projects, partnerships, or even breakthroughs in your approach to visual merchandising. For me, attending the VM and Display Show is not just about keeping up with industry trends; it's about being part of a vibrant professional community that’s always moving forward. You can secure your free ticket by visiting www.vmanddisplayshow.comA significant highlight separate from the VM and Display Show itself is the networking drinks event, set to take place on the first evening of the show. This distinct gathering, hosted by the Creative Retail Awards in partnership with 365 Retail and the Shop and Display Equipment Association (SDEA), offers a dedicated space for industry professionals to connect beyond the exhibition floor. Held at Bubba Oasis, conveniently located just outside the BDC, this event is supported by notable industry names such as Antalis, Graphica Display, Kesslers London, MEGA CREATIVE, Morplan, and Retail Focus, underscoring the community-focused ethos that permeates our industry. This separate networking session has become an indispensable part of the experience for those looking to unwind and forge meaningful connections in a more informal setting after the day's show activities.Detailed information on how to secure your place at this event can be found at https://lnkd.in/eia7_2_NLet’s make the most of these opportunities to connect. See you at the VM and Display Show!

What is visual merchandising? What are the key elements & benefits?Visual merchandising is essentially a strategy. It blends marketing tactics with design science. Visual merchandising uses all the elements of physical store space to attract consumers’ attention, woo them into the store and then persuade them again to buy a product. What is Sustainable Visual Merchandising?Sustainable visual merchandising focuses on reducing the environmental burden by using organic and ethically-sourced materials in its design. In the recent past, we have seen many brands switching from plastic to paper or recycled material in an attempt to reduce their plastic waste.Brands like Estee Lauder, Sierra Nevada, Unilever, and Walmart have already taken steps towards sustainable packaging and visual merchandising. Popular QSR chain McDonald’s has targeted to use recycled plastic in Happy Meal toys, straws & trays, and restaurant interior designs.Read the complete blog...

✴️What is Visual Merchandising?📎Visual merchandising is a marketing practice that uses floor plans, colour, lighting, displays, technology, and other elements to attract customer attention. Its ultimate purpose is to use the retail space to generate more sales by making a store stand out and attracting shoppers.📎Creativity is key to good visual merchandising, and making your vision come to life is Contra Vision’s speciality.✴️What Are The 4 Elements of Visual Merchandising?📎Within visual merchandising, there are 4 key elements. These elements are where the advertisem*nts can be placed to attract customers. These four areas are:☑️The store exterior – marquees, window displays and entrance☑️The store layout – selling space, personnel space and merchandising space☑️The store interior – the store design (floor and wall coverings, fixtures and lighting)☑️The interior display – the way of displaying the merchandise✴️Objectives of Visual MerchandisingAttracting the attention of passers-by and enticing people to enter a store is the number one aim of great visual merchandising. But how do you do it?🔵Your store’s display window is the first thing people see, and it can be a deciding factor in whether a customer enters the store or not. One of the most crucial visuals that will define your shop is a powerful retail window design.🟡Great window graphics create a story, something customers can relate to, and elicit a positive experience from the get-go. This isn’t limited to seasonal displays, nor props. Incorporating artistic installations, using striking graphics, lighting and even video displays all work together to create a unique feeling. There are dozens of possible applications for window designs, in-store and outside of it, and Contra Vision’s one-way vision window graphics can help you make the most out of your promotional space.🔴The art of capturing attention through visual appeal has its own principles, but it all comes down to one thing: creating an amazing experience that encourages a purchase. This leads us to goal number two: to create a beautiful and positive ambience in-store that makes customers feel good by being in it.🟡Visual merchandising doesn’t only help a store attract customers: it helps increase sales and gives customers a good reason to come back again, whilst giving your business a competitive advantage. This is why visual merchandising is so important.

ENHANCING VISUAL MERCHANDISING AND DISPLAYSA key part of successful retail sales is creating apleasant shopping experiencefor customers. Enhancing visual merchandising and displays can have a positive impact on the customer experience, making it easier to navigate the store and more alluring to browse.Good store lighting is essential for achieving both these goals byhighlighting products, helping customers focuson specific areas, and providingadequate overall illumination.DIRECTING ATTENTION AND GUIDING CUSTOMERS THROUGH THE STOREProper lighting can be used to help customers navigate the store, guiding them to different sections and drawing attention to areas of interest. Retail store owners can ensure that their stores are well lit by utilizing several effective strategies, such as:Accent Lighting: Using spotlights and accent lights strategically placed around the store will attract customers’ attention and showcase products or displays in specific areas.Pathway Lighting: Installing lamps, fixtures or poles along the main pathways within a retail spaces helps direct customer’s eyes towards other functional parts of the shop like check-outs or products on sale.Strategic Placement Of Lighting Fixtures: Strategically placing lights throughout the store – at higher levels for general lighting and lower ones for accents – allows shoppers to move easily between different aisles without feeling overwhelmed or disorientated by darkness.Houssem.D Marketing Managerhoussem@cionlighting.comMob/WhtasApp +971 565 26 27 37 CION Lighting Technologies ITALY -UAE
